The Last Week of School

Hello Everyone,
I cannot believe this is the last week of our class. Professor Pincumbe has been wonderful. I love the positive feedback that I have received from everyone! A wonderful class with great classmates!
The advice I would give to anyone writing their first scientific paper is to get started early. Listen to the feedback you receive from others and use it wisely. Watch out for those websites that are not factual! Make sure you pick a subject you are interested in because if you don't you won't put every effort into writing and researching it.

Mostly I want to thank everyone for your help. Everyone have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and healthy New Year!!!!!!

Writing

Hi Class, I can't believe we are in week 9 already! I am going to miss this class. I have learned so much from Professor Pincumbe and the rest of you guys about my writing. I have always liked to write. But , I have never taken a class to enhance my writing. This class has shown me a lot of mistakes that I have been making in my writing. I think I will be a better writer when I leave this class and Kaplan.

On another note we are having horrible weather here in Kentucky. The wind is blowing 30-35 mph and gusting up to 55. I have another neighbor tree in my back yard. That is irritating. LOL. The temp here is dropping by the hour too. They are predicting single digits by tonight. BRRRRR...... LOL

Blogging

Hello class, I have enjoyed the blogging myself. I love reading every one's blogs every week and finding out what is going on with you guys. This is a good place to put your thoughts. I have had a few comments and they were all good. I have 14 followers so I know everyone is reading my blogs. I don't always comment on every blog I read. I do read them though. I hope I have left some good comments for the ones I have commented on. I think blogging with my classmates is a good idea. I will probably keep up with my blog after this class is finished and I hope others will too.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was wonderful. I spent time with my family and a few close friends! That is all that matters to me is having everyone I love with me on the holidays! I want to wish everyone luck on their papers! Please remember not to take peer reviews personally! Have a good and safe weekend!

Peer Reviews

Hello class, I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!
I hate doing peer reviews, because I am afraid of hurting people's feelings. Please, I am just doing what I have to do and trying to help you with my knowledge, what little I have. LOL I am not personally attacking anyone or their work. I don't know why it makes me feel so bad to do a peer review on someones paper. I like the feedback on my paper. It helps me to see where I can improve. It also helps me to see things I can't see or maybe I have forgotten about. LOL I believe we, as students, can learn a lot from each other through peer reviews. I know I have learned a lot from our discussion boards and I will continue to learn from them. Good luck with your papers and have another wonderful week!

Week 6

Hi everyone, another week has passed and all is good! I hope everyone is enjoying their time here at Kaplan. I have learned so much from our seminars and the discussion board is awesome. I have to say that the professors here are awesome too. They are all very positive and have given me wonderful guidance.

My paper is going to be on alcoholism and how it affects the liver and other organs as well as how it causes bodily injury due to accidents. My research is going very well. I have found so much interesting reading in the Kaplan library as well as online. I am looking forward to reading everybody's papers as we get them finished. I want to wish all good luck in writing your paper! It is a slow and tedious process to write a good paper, but we can do it!

Personal Writing Style

Hey everyone, I hope the week is treating you wonderful! I myself have somehow gotten sick with bronchitis. I am getting better though it has been a little hard to breathe. My biggest challenge with school was algebra. I had it in high school and it was so long ago I just could not bring it back into my brain. I managed to skate by with a 89.4 but it should have been an A. :) It was so frustrating not remembering any of the formulas when I know I had seen them before. But oh well other than that as far as academic challenges I have done pretty good in the rest of my classes.

My writing has always been pretty easy for me. I like to research things and learn. Writing that thesis is always a challenge to me for some reason. I think it is because I don't know exactly what I my paper is going to be about until I am finished. There are times when researching I will find something more important that I want to add to my paper. I guess sometimes that is a challenge too. Trying not to put too much info in the paper and making it too long. I like to take my notes in an organized fashion so I usually use the outline technique. If I don't use this technique my notes seem to be so unorganized and messy.
